No real buyer eh???

Let's check a couple things here...

If I wasn't serious why would I have upped the previous bid by $5000?

That's right...$15000 high bid..and my FIRST SHOT IS $20,000...ok maybe not enough..but I had to start someplace didn't I? Some how you had to question my seriousness ..

If you don't like the e-bay process then why indulge?

I emailed you TWICE trying to get an explanation as to why on 2-27-06 you, yes YOU state the car was NOM..

But the e-bay ad says it is..something isn't right there...

now all of a sudden you were wrong..you tell me it's too long a story to e-mail me ..I'll have to call..but I never get the chance because literally minutes later I check this very thread and somehow you are stressed over the fact I'm the high bidder on the car...

Now lets review my opening $20,000 bid..trust me my 20K was closer to the price you will get to the car than the $200 you opened bidding at ..

Lets review some more...

on 6-30 07 you originally list the car for $35,000

10 days later you post 'absolute bottom line at $32,995' Gotta take ya at your word there right..I mean 'bottom line' and all.

But...not even two weeks later the price drops again to $32,500...

Well that wasn't low enough to 'git her done' so..on sept 27 2007 price again drops to $31,900

Two days ago... you list it at $27,500.

but now today...you tell us the reserve is set at $25,000.Weren't you supposed to tell us that when you said it was on e-bay...did I miss 'Reserve is set at $24,999'?

Now look, I'm not busting your chops because you came down on the price...

I'm not even complaining because whether it has the original mill in it or not is somehow now blurr...

what I'm saying..how the hell do I know where your bottom line price is?

I'm just glad i didn't offer you the $27,500 'cause it only takes $25,000 to buy it...

I retracted my bid because I don't know where the truth begins or stops...

I retracted my bid because, I find you..arrogant...

All this and you have the balls to bust my chops...

Mr. friendly you ain't...at least not to me.

Ok, so now my integrity is in question by someone who is not a buyer on my car. For those that know me they could attest that this is preposterous. So let me explain why I wrote in my auction "This cars motor is an original date coded 70 Chevelle SS 396, Auto Trans block. I believe it to be the original motor that this car was born with." For those that know me they know that I just like to drive my cars. I am NOT a numbers guy or someone who gets caught up in original motors, codes, etc. I sold my Yenko Deuce (which by the way DID NOT have its original motor) and bought my current house with the proceeds. I had some left over money and bought this car from a friend of mine who ALSO was not a numbers guy. He is an old hot rod guy and not a numbers matching muscle car guy. When I bought the car he told me it was NOT the original motor and for the money I was paying ($30,000) at that time (April 2006) it was non matching numbers money. I liked the car and the color and that was all that mattered to me. So for the first couple years I told people it was non matching numbers. I never really investigated it because to be honest, I did not care.

Fast foreword to Chevy Vette Fest November 2007. I was BSing with my friends and respected fellow sYc members Rick Nelson and Chad Bloomberg. They were looking over my car because they are very interested in 70 Chevelles. I had told Rick that the car was a NOM car and he started to look at it and said "what makes you think this car is not an original motor car?" I had told him that was what I was told. He preceded to show me the front engine pad of my motor and showed me the engine suffix code was for a 1970 Chevelle SS 396, 350 HP, automatic car built in the 04C range which matches my trim tag. I was pretty surprised because I had never looked before. (I know this sounds silly but for those that know me know I don't even change my own oil!) Rick then climbed underneath the car looking for the vin stamp which is supposed to be near the oil filter but there was to much paint on it to read the number. (Yes, Rick is that small, about 90lbs soaking wet, so he fits under non-jacked up cars!) Rick then educated me about Chevelles in the sense that my car being a Flint Michigan built car, would NOT have a build sheet and would have a motor that was stamped by the oil filter as opposed to the Arlington LS5 454 I previously had that had the stamp on the front engine pad. To this day I have not yet got under the car to see if the vin number is there. The way I look at it is this. The car is just your run of the mill 1970 Chevelle SS 396. Who would have gone through all the trouble to locate an exact date coded 70 396 automatic block for this car for the purpose of deceiving someone? It is not worth all that trouble. We are not talking about a Yenko or other car with the pedigree that would bring someone to look for a block like that. So the way I look at it, "I believe that this was the motor that the car was born with."

I hope that clears up any mis conceptions of my car and my integrity.

Also I should clarify, while you are looking at my previous posts looking for an opportunity to say GOTTCHA! there are a few things I will clear up. I listed my car almost two years ago at a higher price. Big friggin deal. Things are different now. The country is in a very bad recession which has greatly affected me. THAT is why the car is priced lower now. I just spent two years in college and am now having a baby which has wiped me out, I need the money plain and effin simple. I should not have to justify this to you.

Second of all, this site requires someone to list what they want for their car if it was on e-bay. Like I said I have the reserve at $24,999 for $hits and giggles. I said I wanted $27,500 which is what I want and if I had to work with someone a little or help with shipping costs, as I have been asked already, I have the room in the price. So what's the big deal?

You don't know where the truth begins or stops.....give me an effin break.

I am done jerking around with you. Go jerk someone else off now.

On July 27 2007 another poster said in one of your threads...quoting...
''Frank
I talked to Gene a while back and he told me of the upgrades and that he sold it to you.
I never worried about a build sheet or docs when I bought it. It was such as nice car, it was a moot point.
Here's what I can tell you- everything is there to indicate true SS. As I remember, the engine, although not original, is date correct.''

Now I don't know what the posters relationship was to this car..sounds like he may have owned it once...

Whoever he is..he sounds enough like a numbers guy to have read date codes...

I'm not questioning anybody's integrity..as far as I know your version is gospel..but you know what when I asked you, you were to arrogant to tell me...but now you can tell everybody else your version because it's in the public eye..I had every reason to pull my bid.

And to say I pulled it because I wasn't a serious buyer is just more of your un-friendly side..

BTW..none of this needed to be on this board..it all could have been in e-mails or PM until YOU cast a shadow upon the way I do business. And go read the rules on listing a car for sale...you gotta tell us what the reserve is. And like I said..I wasn't busting your chops because you went down on the price..did you ever read my post?

Have a good Easter, I'm going to a less stressful place...right now...

Ok, enough guys. Jim isn't buying the car, Frank isn't selling it to him, All you ever wanted to know about the car is there to read, or call Frank himself... but quit bickering in this thread or I'll toss the whole thing. -JB

You keep acting like you caught me doing something dirty or unethical.

Redeuce (Randy) had previously sold this car (he is dealer)to my friend Gene. Maybe he never looked under the car for a number by the filter, who knows.

As far as being to arrogant to tell you over an e-mail, yeah, I am not screwing around emailing with someone who claims to be a "real buyer" on my car. If you were that serious you would have called to discuss a matter as serious as your allegations that I am a shiester trying to screw someone over. Maybe I am arrogant, but I just have a zero tolerance for BS. You are either a buyer or not.
