I'm in suspense......The car is on jack stands...Did you spin the rear to see if it is 4.10 posi? that's an easy way to tell if it is not original inside....assuming it is an original COPO rear

here is the trans mount that came with the car, and a pic of the engine frame mount. found an 10 year old insurance certificate in the car, and will try to contact the guy to get more info.

Love the 68's.
Not sure if I missed it, but if you have factory installed rear springs what is the Leaf count? Z28 as built = 4 L78 as built = 5 Cool car and should be a fun project. Toss the rear in the dumpster and install a 9",,,, ![]() Just kidding,, VERY neat Car. Jim

Clearly, the BE rear is a great bonus, but to the car.... if the 6k tach, b/b heater core, and 15" wheels, are all original to the car, it can only be one of two thing. 1. a Yenko with COPO9737 Sports car conversion package, or 2. an L78 that Yenko ordered to convert to 427, and never got converted.
If the tach and heater core are original, and the tire sticker is not, it's probably an L78. If the tach and tire sticker are original, but the heater core is not, it's probably a Z/28. If none are original to the car, well then, it could be almost anything. With the exception of the last one, all of the other possibilities are good, but of course, scenario 1 is the best. (I personally think scenario two is the coolest) |
