Norm,

If you are unfortunate enough to watch one of their shows,
that is about the extent of his vocabulary. Oh yeah,
F-this & F-that too. Forgot about those gems.

So by deleting the all-purpose (noun adjective verb pronoun adverb preposition.....) F WORD, the Walrus was rendered speechless?

That sums it up pretty good. He is a hammer wielding goon.

I know a few guys lost huge huge money last night.. Its the chance you take if your doing this for investment/job and most know that. What REALLY pisses me off is that the fact Craig himself was hyping up a couple cars saying they were good cars and extremely undervalued blah blah blah, when infact they were well known piles of crap! its all about who you know and how good of a blo* job you can give PERIOD. I saw a lot of shady stuff this weekend and really dont know if I personally will sell there again. It seems MONEY is the only thing that runs that circus 10% buyer commission this year?? when is enough enough?? I think you'll see Mecum steal the spot light coming up soon.. Much more of a TRUE HOBBIST and down to earth guy and..granted he makes money too but he isnt out to make you bleed like Barrett. There is NO way Barrett will ever see another QUALITY LEGIT car again valued at more than 250k unless they bring back the reserve..and even then I think this year left a very sour taste in the mouths of many. I cant wait to see Palm Beach.. Im sure glad I didnt consign anything there. Just think if you had a 600k car there and it only brought 400k to buy your own car back would be $72,000 that is insane and if you didnt do it you would lose 200k. That auction is hurting for next year unless they get smart or just sell junk.. Cars that blew my mind were

Motion Race car.
OCC Charger/Bike
Ohlers 71 Hemi Challenger
68 Yenko Camaro
basically to many to list..

I saw signs last year that looked like they were at their peak and starting to lose it. This year proves that BJ is not where you want to sell your car. R&S and Mecum will probably have a banner year after this fiasco. Watching them rush the BM Corvette across the block last year pointed out to me what was really going on. 18% commission to keep your own car explains it all.

While watching the auction over the weekend and seeing all of the stars and people come forward to donate to worthy causes such as the CNN Hummer. This discussion came up with a friend. Craig and his crew did a great job of getting the most out of the bidders on these items. And bless them for being so generous. But wouldn't it have been nice to hear Craig or his president come forward and contribute, offer some sort of matching or donate commission on the sale? Perhaps he has contributed in ways that I am not aware of. If so I apologize, but he had one hell of a weekend ($). Would have been nice to see him step up. Kinda made me sick thinking about it...

Regarding the Motion car.. I love them but they just don't seem to do well at auction for some reason...

I should mention that although I dont agree with some ofthe stuff I saw and heard Craig does raise alot of money for some great charity's and also pulls if a few guys like Shelby and Edsel that also take in a great deal for there cause which is great. I had a fun time although the weather wasnt the best it was great meeting a few guys from the site and hanging out wit Bruce for the day..AND KICKING HIS BUTT IN GO KART RACING!! LOL.. Bruce close only counts in horse shoes buddie.. We'll definately have to go a second round in the near future..

Andy...you're on! If you wouldn't have spun out and caused me to crash broadsided into you at 30mph...all you would have seen was the back of my cart! LOL As it was...all I needed was another lap

It was great hanging with you too, Andy. Now go home and hug both of your kids

Darren, Lynn and I had the same discussion, too...though the Childhelp Gala before B-J and various other functions that they don't ever talk about raise lots of $$$....

Quick Bow tie that’s what I heard from some one last night
I know He was told in uncertain terms late
last night that If he wants the high caliper cars and the owner/buyers to return He will be forced to return the reserve
If not We can expect the B/J auction become nothing more Than breathing ground to
Unload bogus / fake and anything goes type of car. Sad in a way he got to greedy
This year there are a lot of unhappy campers that lost a lot of money
with Crag Jackson
Hell last night there was unloading pianos Guitars and in the end Sunday they are unloading soap box Debby type cars something I just did not want to see
Don’t be surprised in the next few months there will be a lot a negativity written
About this years show . if there is no change and if he is so bull headed about no reserve
Then I think many people will just not even bother with it next year

Ok everyone, here you go, from the Official BJ site of cars listed and sales results: I took each car (69 Camaro) from the site, added and divided accordingly. There were 38 total 1969 Camaros listed on their site, the total sales price(s) of these 38 cars EXCLUDING COMMISIONS were $4,491,050.00 or AVERAGE price of $118,185.52. If you remove the Motion car (not roadable) and Reggies zl-1 the total for the 36 cars (38-2)is $88,641.66. I think both of these numbers are a fair average for what went through. Many were clones, and small block cars (z-28's ) Why are we worried about values anyway, it's just a HOBBY, right? The sky is not falling, chicken little............ Craig
