That is almost hard to believe.

That is Jim Saathoff, my Restoration Tech (at the wheel) and Shannon (wearing the hat) who originally contacted me about the Chevelle.

Rick, since the first time we spoke I couldn't believe that such a craftsman and expert on these cars didn't own one himself. I'm so happy that you finally found a car that is worthy of the hands it finds itself in. Despite your paramount expertise you remain one of the most humble and nicest guys I know have always been willing to lend a helping hand. I only hope that the car will remain with you for a very long time and will see many years of enjoyment and quality burnouts. Congrats!

Thanks LS6SS for the kind words. The only reason we do not have any cars and Annie sold her collection was that we had no place to keep them let alone work on them as every square inch of our business property, trailers, rented storage units as well as our home properties are occupied by customer cars and/or parts. I have NO idea where we are even going to keep this one when it is completed. We have had a couple of unbelievable offers on the Chevelle but she and I agreed before we ever went down and got it that it was not for sale so for the time being it will be owned and restored by us and us only. It has been over 10 yeas since I had anything worth bragging about so I intend to drive and enjoy this one.

Good for you. That's refreshing to read. This car should be driven and enjoyed.

That was a great story about finding the car. The bunny suits and respirators reminded me of when I extracted my latest '62 from a long hibernation in a damp garage. Everything was covered in mold. (no critter poop though)

Rick, I just finished reading all 20 pages and all I can say is WOW!
As someone who knows a little bit about luck and having a car find you, I agree 100% with those who say it could not have happened to a nicer guy. I know just how you feel.
Best of luck with it.
Andy
