Has been that way for years and unfortunately I'm usually on one most weeks.

And that's not how I really feel.

Try this to avoid checked baggage charges, take your bags with you to the gate, like it's going with you as carry-on luggage. When they tell you that you have too many bags to carry on, ask for then to "gate check" them. They don't have the ability to charge fees at the gate.

But they do when you go to claim,as I had to do this at Phoenix Sky Harbour,Southwest Florida International,O'Hare & Midway airports recently due to my misjudgement.
Each time my extra bags were held back from the others after landing and I was approached by an attendant asking me to follow them to a customer checkout counter.
I had to pay them then & there or no bags for me.
They are a savy bunch.

I absolutely HATE flying and have an extreme fear of it.. I think it is a control issue.. I would much rather drive somewhere even though it is usually safer flying, so they say..

I'll do it if I have to, but won't like it.....

I'm scared of heights, yet I love to fly...except when that Bill Eaton is behind the controls

My previous job when I was in college was performing line service on corporate jets and believe it or not I would go for "ride along" flights and was not fearful because I knew all of the pilots well and felt comfortable around the jets due to working on them. I also worked with the mechanics and knew how well maintained the planes were..

However, other than Continental and Southwest I am really leary of flying.. I have 2 friends that fly for those airlines so I know those planes/pilots are good to go
