This isn't what this thread is about but...you know what I hate about nascar? Two things..One..it's turned into wrestling..all this 'for the cameras' fighting...crashing in the pits crap...what jerks...till some pit guy gets run over by somebody....and two

all the cars look the same, I can't tell a Ford from a Chevy from a Toyota...did I just say Toyota??

#3 Cheapshotted many a Driver. Ask Terry Labonte , Bobby Hamilyon etc. ( Esp on last laps ) There is a long list of people he F'd with his " Intimadator type Driving" The funny thing is he really did not have to drive so dirty but he chose to. So the " Legend " continues but I'm no fan

This isn't what this thread is about but...

NASCAR has been televised for over 30 years - why do all the announcers feel it is necessary to explain what tight, loose, wedge, stagger, etc - etc is every 15 minutes?
I watched the Super Bowl and not one announcer explained what a first down was.
I've never watched a baseball game where they explained strikes and balls for me.
(Though I could listen to the infield fly rule a couple more times)
Is the perceived IQ of the NASCAR fan so low that we need the vernacular explained on an hourly basis?

actually his line was "I was just trying to rattle his cage"

and the best follow up to that was after Mayfield moved him aside at Pocono on the last lap, and in victory lane when asked how he could move Earnhardt, he replied; "I was just rattling his cage"

Wow .. I guess I should go since I have one of the first IROC cars from 1973/74 . May be some memoribilia or photos or who knows what that would be cool to have. Items from
the first year are very scarce . I am fortunate to have the orginal Statement of Orgin sigbned in two places br Roger Penske .. one signed on behalf of Volkswagen of America and the other on behalf of Penke Productions.

not fair to compare IROC to NASCAR. what eventually hurt IROC was its dominance by NASCAR drivers. it seemed that half of every field was a NASCAR driver. i had an idea that i forwarded to IROC a few years back.
race 4 races, 1 short track, 1 restrictor plate, 1 drag race and 1 dirt race. NHRA drivers need to be added. the key to IROC was landing dates on weekends with other track events. imagine the potential of having these IROC cars draging at Thunder Valley in Bristol Tennessee the same weekend that they run the Sharpie 500. Have a super ticket where you get NHRA, NASCAR, and IROC all for 1 weekend.
NHRA could match up schedules with NASCAR at Bristol, Las Vegas, Chicago and Charlotte. Drivers included would be:
4 - NHRA (Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock bikes)
2 - CHAMP/IRL
2 - World of Outlaws, USAC
4 - NASCAR (2 from Cup, 1 from Busch, 1 from Trucks)
