[b] '61 409 dual quad 4 speed - Joe had bought this car over 20 years ago and put it away.
It has been untouched in all those years!

Dog,
I have been following this auction from the beginning. I commend you for making the trip early to see it all. MANY more photos of cars and parts than on the web site. And you must have been lucky to find Joe there. I will be there on the Fri "official" preview day. I will attempt to document as many cars as I can and also look for a few parts I need. The auction company states that none of the cars have titles, so I fear they will sell as parts cars. Even if there are a few original '09 cars there, I wonder who would risk trying to title one to restore it. It will be interesting to see if any of the VINs on the engines match the VINs on the cars. That will be one of my quests on Friday. It's a shame everything is in such bad shape.

You can just register with a bill of sale on pre-title cars (Pre-'73/'74)..right? or are they specifying "no paperwork"?

The auction company now has the cars & parts listed on ebay and is taking "pre-auction" bids that will supposedly be reported at the time of the physical auction. They also have everything listed on another live auction web site, both requiring a 20% buyers premium. And he has set reserves on all the items and given the owner the right to place his own bids up to the reserves. So, if you're planning on attending, just imagine standing there out in the cold with your bidders paddle while the auctioneer is busy refreshing his laptops and informing you that you have been out-bid! No chance for hanky-panky I'm sure....
