Steve,
The caption on that photo was supposed to read "I debated loooong and hard about posting this one. I know I’ll catch some grief over this. Same time in ’71 I think (just before the Navy). I had some success with the car on days when there were no “good” cars there!!! Those were the BEST times of my life…..and the best “times” the car ever saw too……..!"

James wasn't available for the photo, so I got George Harrison...........

Are you sure it wasn't James Taylor? How about Dennis Wilson?

What a fabulous story Verne - It must be great to still have a car you have that much history with. Love that '68 look with the mags on the front and the chrome reverse on the back.
Let me check my fridge, I know I have a bottle of Ripple or was that Boone's Farm to toast you with!!

Wow, great story and well worth the time to read. Surely all of us can identify with this story and remember the good times with our cars in the old days (some older than others). Loved the "this is how you learn things" quips too. Here's my '62--in 1/25 scale. Original AMT kit from 1962 put together carefully with no paint. My neighbor had a '62 Impala convert when I was a little kid (late '60s) that he bought new and it must have had resonators because it had a great sound. It was a non-SS 283/PG, white/blue interior/white top, full wheelcovers. I've been crazy about '62s ever since!

Hey Verne, That is a bad a$$ car my man! You are truly a living legend with the 409's! Spoke to your buddy Ronnie for a good while at the WalMart show Sunday. Had his gold anniversary car there. LOve to see your car in person!
