![]() Ride height with YP front springs. Paul [/ QUOTE ] Paul, That ride height is sweet - and perfect! Now I'm confused though. You mentioned YP springs on this car, then you mentioned L/89 heads later..... Did I miss something? Does this Camaro have iron, or aluminum heads? And what about those NOS springs? Are they in this car now? Nuch

You know, this issue has been debated numerous times here.
I looked at that front coil spring calculator last year, but it seemed that there were so many variables to consider. Does anyone here know, or have a reference chart regarding all the front coil springs that were made for the '69 Camaro? Do any members here have original springs that they can use to verify tag codes? I would assume that for big block, there are the determining factors: 1 - L/35 and L/35 2 - Muncie or THM400 3 - L/78 or L/89 4 - A/C ( L/34 & L/35 only ) 5 - 3 or 4-core radiator 6 - hardtop or convertible As all BB Camaro's had SMOG and cast iron exhaust manifolds, that can't be a factor. Nor can power brakes as that was mandated. Would P/S add significant weight to require a different spring pressure? Can springs be clipped to reduce the ride height to a "desired" height? If so, is there a formula ( other than try-it )? Lastly, what exactly is the proper ride height? Paul's Blue SS looks perfect to me. Got a ride height for us Paul? Nuch

One more thought for the moderators. Perhaps we should start
a "sticky thread" for front coil springs. It sure would be helpful to know what others owners have used for their particular applications, and where they got their particular springs. Can unsprung height be used as a determining factor for used springs? I know that when I source new springs for a particular manufacturing project, unsprung height is a factor. Any thoughts ![]() Nuch

Here is a shot of the car with L-89 Aluminum heads and NOS YM code front springs. The car was an original L-78, I added the Aluminum heads to save some weight. Last November, I sold the car due to a Divorce in November to a member on this site. To me, it looked perfect.

Paul, I am still interetsed in buying/trading for your YP springs......I just need more confidence these would be correct for MY "COPO" situation......versus another code lettered spring....
I suppose I will call Eaton Detroit, Ricks or "somebody" soon and ask for advice???????????
