My turn now..
I've been gently asking an old lady here in town over the years for a chance at her '70 Chevelle when she's ready...last I checked in on her was last summer and as usual she was all smiles and certain she had my number set aside and would be calling me when the time came..
Although not something special like Mac lost out on, it's an original owner never winter driven six banger 2 Dr. Hdtp. w/ about 50 thou on it...even still had a set of those old clear plastic seat covers on since new!.
After Macs posting I thought I'd better drive by on the weekend and found a sold sign on her house, the house empty and no one around...my heart sank!.
I didn't even knock on any doors but strangely enough ended up talking to an old guy the next night at one of my kids lacrosse games and happened to ask him where he lived...when he told me, I realized he's a neighbour a few doors down from the old lady!.
He told me she's quit driving and moved to her daughter's out of town and the car was in the drive for a couple days after she left but picked up by whoever the lucky dog was that ended up w/ it!.
So what's a fella to do w/ these people...harass old ladies to give up their wheels?.

~ Pete

Remember this, anyone 50 and older does not have the memory they had when they were younger.

Hello Joe,
The person who had the 1969 Z-28. When you talked to him about sell in car. He told you that you had first offer. How long did this guy have the Camaro? How did you get the engine and transmission? How long ago did you buy them? What color was the exterior paint and stripes? What color interior trim?
How are you with your health? We had last talked on the forum just after Christmas and before New Years. How are the other guys also?
Regards,
Drew Papsun

Hi Drew:
I would speak to him a couple of times a year but probally three months ago was the most current. He had the car since the mid to late 70's.I was not clear in my post I only got the mm22 in the mid 80's. He called in the middle of the winter and I took it out in the freezing cold. No idea why he sold it at the time.I don't know the exact color but it was a light blue with white stripes not lemans blue and a black houndstooth interior.I am hanging in thanks for asking
Joe

Hello Joe,
The paint color light blue of the (3) blues paint offered is Glacier Blue code 53 (4.2%) built. The other speical paints offered was the University of North Carolina Tarheel Blue. It is a non metalic powder blue. I have seen this on Camaro and Chevelle cars.

Hi Joe , Un believable , when you think your neighbours and the fact that you never once gave him any indication that you didn't want the car, and then to think it went for $8,000 Cdn ! You really don't think this guy would sell it for a quick buck if you "topped it off" a bit for him ? Good luck. Bob
