Quite possibly urban myth, but wasn't there a thread a few years back about the A/F ordering base elco's with LS6 motors?.I seem to recall them being utilized for birdogging SR71's during takeoff/landing as the pilots could not see the wingtips.Apparentely they were the only chase vehicle that could keep up..maybe I was dreaming, lol

Those were SS454 cars not base El Camino's. The Air Force base my brother was stationed at used these cars and he and I have been looking for one for many years to no avail.

That car is in fact a Super Sport LS-6 and not a base Malibu.

With some of the most respected and knowledgable people in the hobby as members here, I'd say this is the place to make the car known. Oh well, it's nothing out of my pocket.
I wish you well with the sale.

The seller is probably confused by the Malibu emblems on the door panel instead of "SS". This is extremely common on LS-6 cars as Charley mentioned. I would say maybe $80K-$90K fully restored and even then many would pass on the car being a column shift with a bench seat. The Seller is dreaming IMHO.
