L34pace: The attorney calls and tells me part of the settlement was written right into the divorce that the car would be bought back at whatever it took to buy it!!! This nice lady gets her family car back in better than sold condition. "hubby" gets his mid life crisis scratched. And yes....I end up replacing the 6cyl ragtop with lets just say a significantly upgraded version

[/ QUOTE ]

Jeez... Talk about taking advantage... Your lucky L34guy didn't have your car.
I was waiting for the part where he gave the excess over-charges back to the lady....
Some people never change.

Hopefully you got a reasonable deal.
If you had to pay a "little" more to get back a car you intend to keep forever -- Who cares, go for it.

With these old cars, you never pay too much, you just buy them too soon.

Wow, using a thread of a fellow member who asked for advice on making an emotional purchase for his own personal vendetta...pathetic I wont justify Jeffs maliciuos attack with a response.

On a more positive note. Post up those photos when you get the car settled at home. You can count on MOST of us for positive input and mature advice
