Rick, that damn rev limiter kept me from showing my true shifting talents. I have received comments from over half of my neighbors about your late night departure after the cook out. Mainly what the hell kind of car was that?????????

At least they were comments and not complaints.

I tried to imagine how many people I rolled out of bed with that one considering how late it was.

By the way, the rev limiter had nothing to due with your ability to shift as I was told you are an expert. However, it likely saved you a lot of money.....

The following weekend after the Secretary of State show was even more fun. After the show we got invited to http://www.fccustoms.com/projects.php for an evening party and burnout contest. They asked us to bring the car into their shop for everyone to check out and it seemed to be a great hit. There was likely 300-400 spectators there and some WILD cars. We made sure upon our departure to let everyone know their tune up skills were appreciated but not needed at this time.

Thanks again to Don and Judi for the great party. Very nice group of people you had there as well as some great hosts. Don's shop is a site to behold as is his collection of cars.

The sYc will be having a club display, open to all members. Bob assured me at SCR9 we could have all of the room we could fill. Cars in our display can either be for show only or judged. Please let me or Bob know if you want to show int he sYc showcase. Also, if wanting to be judged, be sure and register with Chevy/Vettefest.

In addition to the club display, there will be a special display for cars sold by Chicago area dealers. I think Bob already has a few lined up, but would welcome others.

The "Chicago Muscle" Showcase will be open to cars that have some interesting Chicago History. This could be cars from Chicago dealers, ones that ruled the streets or cars that are or were owned by Chicago area racers.

For either showcase, please let us know if you are in whether you are getting judges or not, as this show WILL be full! Please submit the form to either Tom or myself and if you are not being judged, specify "Non Comp" at the top.

Just want to make sure anyone who wants to be a part of the show is locked in!
