Bruce,

Great shots Bruce. Thanks again. It was great to see you and you-know-who at the Pavillions. Man, there were so many awesome cars I didn't know which way to turn. I had 1.5 hrs to review cars and felt I only scratched the surface. Did you get a shot of the red/black '65 396/425 4 spd coupe in the featured row. What a beauty! Much docs, original drivetrain, original black leather interior. Owner is a friend and has had the car for 12 yrs and bought it from the original owner! Simply drop dead gorgeous. He had to replace the exhaust system when he bought it and went down to the Chevy dealer in the area where he bought it (northern CA) and they still had the "off road" system in stock .

Bruce... that red Corvette is a 1965 L-78. The painted semi-black air cleaner cover and valve covers were standard equit. A dull chrome air cleaner cover for BBC cars was a '66 change. The chrome valve covers only came on L-89 '67 Vettes.

All 396, 427 Vettes ('65, '66, '67) got painted orange valve covers unless the L-89 option was added.
