It sounds like a deal if all the numbers match up and there is docuementation to be had. I love my 68 Z.

Good luck.

Well I have a minor update. I had dinner with the owners partner tonight. He said that the car is immulaculate (spell that right?).
He said that the owner of the camaro goes through cycles of sell, keep it, sell, keep it. He thought that he may be serious this time. The car is as nice as I described, but is not, (I do not think) an RS Z, just a Z28. based on this, and that it has no console, just shifter, , am radio, but rear spoiler, the $40K price is right for this car?

All of the car engine, tranny, rear, and all other parts are original to the car with 44K miles.
I will call him tomorrow and see how firm he is on the prce and if he is serious a bout selling.

AND if I get a chance to go out there I will take some pictures.
Top dollar for the car today is????_____________

thanks guys,
Mike

I just purchased a 68 Z last week. Same color, and sounds very similar in condition to yours. Mine has the Plenum option.
all the owners are still around too.
I paid $44K. And was happy to do it.

I would rather someone add the RS option then remove it. Still an original Z. Buy it! Your spliting hairs here. Don't get cold feet. Offer 35,000 see what he says. JMO Sam

It's a '68 Z/28 (and it sounds like a nice one at that)for christ sakes man...DON'T EVEN HESITATE.

Don't even think about offering him less either,it'd just piss him off anyway.

Give the man what he wants and post some pics soon.

Good luck

OK, OK, just the kind of positive advice I needed from the pros.
I did fail to mention I tried to find the bottom yesterday before I posted anything. I was very nice about it and told him that I did not want to offend him and said that I could offer him $30K for the car w/out all the docs. He was nice about it and said thanks but no thanks.
I will call today and raise the bar a notch as suggested, and then try to give a deposit.

Let you know later
Thanks again.
Mike
