Tony,

Yes,it's great to see these cars run. They had a 40-car(!)field at the Wine Country Classic's in Sonoma and another 33 cars @ Laguna.I overheard Vic Edelbrock talking to ken Epsman about a supposed "tour" with coverage from Speed for T-A cars next year.

Let's hope so because broadcasting NASCAR for 23 of 24 hours doesn't do a thing for me.

John,
Joe Frietas bought Mo Carter's 69 T/A Camaro and will join in the Trans Am vintage race fun next year/ We have heard that the 40th Anniversary of Trans Am racing will be celebrated. They are working on getting sponsorship for shipping cars to Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Road America, Mid Ohio, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, Portland, OR, and Kent , WA. Now all of these tracks may not appear.....but they are on the 'fun' approach for next year.

i understand that there were less corvettes made than z28's & that there value should be higher.but someone like myself personally just likes the camaro's better . as for pricing whatever the owner wants & the buyer is willing to pay ,my 71 z28 with 16,354 miles on it 85% original paint but,l88 motor & dana 60.i wanted it so i paid well over 50,000 to get it. so yes there are people like myself paying high dollar for cars they want.

Bingo!

Thats what seems to get left out of these, "whats it worth" discussions. Depending on the buyer, there may be immeasurable intangle value to some people with respect to a particular car. And if that type of buyer finds the car he wants and happens to be in a position financially where the difference between say 30k and 50k or 70k and 100k ain't that big a deal....lookout!

Vettefinderjim,

Yes,the T-A circuit was discussed and what they are working on now is a commitment from a certain number of drivers to guarantee good TV.It takes quite alot to transport and most of the drivers aren't geared up yet but hopefully,we'll see.

Speaking of Laguna Seca,I should be there right now instead of here at work(!),there's a green flag event going on and a buddy of mine run's his '69 Z/28 there. He's the original owner having bought it off the showroom floor from Roller Chevrolet in Monterey,CA.It's a "--" paint code car that was originally painted pink(?).He added JL-8 in 1971 and a GM crossram a few years later.Has it painted Sunoco Blue w/Yellow minilights.Nice piece...runs 1:51's around Laguna.
