Kim,
No build sheet, Norwood car. The sheetmetal on my car has a lot of factory stampings. Each quarter is stamped in the corners, deck lid is stamped, fenders have stampings in them. All my springs have original tags, and like the car mentioned here I still have the tape under one subframe bushing that held it in place. The problem I see with this 68 SS is that I highly doubt it will be allowed to be judged in any unrestored class. Some of the markings and other parts look way to good to be unrestored. One other thing that I see that is missing from this beauty is some sort of ducumentation. There is no mentoned or pictures of any paperwork. You would think with that low miles and the history of this car there would be some paper work like window sticker, protect-o-plate, anything. That would really sell this car. But I got to say it is one beautiful car and the new owner should be very happy with it. ![]() Rick H. |

Nice paint and interior, but not a survivor.
The engine (and components) and trans and replaced rear were restored. The subframe was restored. Steering parts (with a repainted steering box) look original, other than that the undercarriage is restored. So you're saying the body # is stamped on that rearend seam? Do you have another pic of one? Never heard of that before. Body # is 115464, which doesn't appear to match what's stamped here (?). ![]() ![]()

Here is a shot of my tail panel and although I can not make it out that clearly, it doesn't seem to be the same as my body number. I still think it is a sheetmetal date code just like the quarters and fenders.

Kurt the # I am talking about is on the broadcast I think it is the 2nd item listed after the production date it's under id # on the sheet.Kim

I thought the SS cars got the J-52 power front disc barakes standard. Maybe that was in 69?

Paul, the J52 pwr disc brakes were standard in 69 on all SS cars. The manual drum setup was standard in 67-68 which is not a bad system on a small block car but it ain't no fun in a big block!
Kim, I have both Body and Chassis Broadcast Copies for 67-68 Camaros and I do not see what number you are referring to. There is one that is referred to as the IDENT. NUMBER on the Chassis Broadcast and it is after the vin. Is this the one you are talking about?...........RatPack............. |

I've seen a original date stamp on the frame, it was a different font and in school bus yellow though.
