Default Re: Help identifying ram air iv gto 1970.

I have put them on photobucket because they are large. here is the link thanks
hi, i bought a 70 gto over the weekend. It is a black over black 4 speed car. Guy i bought it from has had it since 1981 and has been in garage for last 15 years. He told me it originally was a ram air iv car. It does have the ram air iv hood with some of the duct work. I know it is a long shot and i already sent in fax for phs documents on friday. Car now has 455 in it. Is there any specific ram air iv parts that i should look for ie radiator part numbers. Was there a cable to ram air hood and where did that go thru firewall at. thanks for the help. i have a few pics of car at following link.

Default 70 GTO with pics

The GTO is now in my garage but still waiting on phs docs to see if it might be a ram air iv. Any help with location of builsheet or other identifiers would be greatly appreciated. thanks

By the looks of the paint on the door I would say the car should be Pepper Green and not black; if that door is original to the car.

Baltimore cars have the build sheet inside the car. look behind the seat or check in side the passenger bucket behind the plastic seatback,or under the carpet. whats the code on the rear??

Default Update phs back on GTO... IT IS A RAM AIR IV!!!!!

Well after a long weekend of hoping. The gto I bought on friday am is a real ram air iv car sold locally in dallas texas at ganis pontiac. It is black on black, ram air iv, safe t tr hd rear, ralley gauges, ralley ii rims, power steering, 3.90 gears, 8 track, console, 4spd close ratio, power disc brakes, red stripe etc etc, it listed for over 4800.00 new. As car sits now it is rust free with mostly original faded paint. It now has a 455 motor but i believe has correct 4speed. When i get a chance i will tell the story on how i bought the car. It is a great story for anyone who loves the hunt for old cars. thanks phil [email protected]
