I have seen this black Nova. Used to belong to a friend of a friend. Definatly a big block,black car. Has a Nickey(faded) dealer sticker on left side of rear bumper. Don't know if it was any more then a 396 though.
Also,thought you might like to see this pic. Had a friend that bought a 427/425 Nova from Nickey. Picture was from Aug. '69. Car was in stock with engine sawp when he bought it. Lost touch of him and car in very early 1970s. Chevelle is another friends 396/375. This same pic was taken shortly after a 427 swap with original heads,cross ram intake,M/T scavenger headers and early L88 cam.

"I don't know of any '70's, but I know there was at least one '69 Nickey Nova. It was advertised for sale in The Herald, a Chicago newspaper, in early '70 as: '69 NICKEY Nova, Phase III, low miles, $2,850"

Could these two be the same car?

They look like Camaro louvers to me also. Maybe they were a Nickey addition to add a little something extra to the 427 package. Looks like the Chevelle is sporting Motion style 68 Impala SS427 emblems on the hood blisters. Definitely a cool period photo.

The emblems were 'SS427' on hood and deck lid. You got to remember,reading all the east coast mags(speed/supercar,hi perf cars etc.) gave ideas.My buddy put them on after he swapped engines. That car really ran. Nickey Nova just had headers,header mufflers and a 4.56 gear. Chevelle would pull him easily every time though.I've been trying to find Nova for some time.

nickeynova;

70 = 1970 Model Year
11427 = Chevrolet Nova 2 Door (has nothing to do with the engine size)
WRN = Assembled in Willow Run MI
226377 = The Fisher Body number of the car

733 = Black vinyl buckets
19 19 = Tuxedo Black upper and lower paint
02d = Body started 4th week of February 1970
A = Black Interior Paint
0653 = Unknown Fisher Body code

Does you car have bright door mouldings, body side moulding, or roop drip rail moulding? Also do you have the codes from the engine, tansmission and rear axle?

I would love to host pictures of your nova on www.chevynova.org
Greg
