A True L-88 hood that looks like that one, only came from Chevrolet on 68-69 vette's. They are a "short" hood. What you are looking at is the L-88 raised area on a 73-79 "long" hood. Note there is no wiper door like all '69's have.
Therefor it has to have been a aftermarket hood. Ecklers and others made them so that you could update the older 68-72 cars with a neat looking hood. One thing is for sure is that it did not come from Chevrolet on a factory L-88.

I know that... neither did it ever come from the factory on a Camaro. I just wouldn't call it simply an "Eckler's" hood...

Well all I can say is that both of my cars have a short hood eith the wiper door on them. The pic you show is of a 73-79 era Vette that came from the factory with a longer hood and no wiper door.
Here is a pic of a "Documented" '70 Baldwin Motion "GT" and you can see the hoods are not even the same...????
