i tell ya, thats a shame what happened to you, i feel for you. hope you are able to get what you paid for. the trim tag issue is just pure out deception, imo. everyone knows what the intent of these tags are. if someone wants to build a clone car, and they get a good profit from the sale, than more power to them, as long as they advertise the car for what it is, but someone that will buy these tags and install them on another car and try to pass it off for anything other, that should be unlawful. i don't know the law regarding switching tags, vin plates, etc. but surely its not legal!

RE:"What did you get?"

I have not looked yet. He claims in a phone conversation that it was built to the same spec as the 427 (that I was supposed to get) below. The rockers look the same. Of course this engine has oval port heads and not rectangle.

<<<<<<<<<<<<&l t;<<<snip>>>>>>>> >
This auction is for a Big Block Chevy 427. Block is 4 bolt main, bored 30 over, no sleeves. GM Forged Nitrided Steel Crank 10/10 Grind. GM Forged Steel 7/16 Rods. JE Forged Pistons. Childs and Albert Rings. Clevite Bearings. Full balance with harmonic balancer and Flywheel. Double Roller Timing chain. Heads are 1968 Rectangle Port Corvette 3919840. They have been lightly professionally ported and polished. GM high perf springs and valves. CAT Aluminum Roller Rockers. Comp hydraulic cam 280 duration 520/520 lift. New Head bolts. This motor was built with the “spared no expense mentality”. Never fired since rebuild. All the best ever GM stuff combined with the best aftermarket parts were installed here. This engine was built to provide many years of reliable service in your nostalgic street car.

Will run fine on pump gas. Will have a nice rumpity rump idle, but still run your vacuum accessories without special vacuum canisters etc. Engine will produce 475 horsepower and 570 ft lbs torque. If you want more power a solid cam can be installed, can get easily to 550 Horse. But, I wanted reliable power for your street rod, so a hydraulic cam will provide that. Chrome oil pan, valve covers, and timing cover. The rest of the Fel-Pro gaskets are included. All you big block guys out there know how hard it is to find these parts, I only have 1 or 2 engines like this a year, and that’s after many days searching swap meets and classified adds. Here is your chance to cut out all the down time, and have this motor on your doorstep 1 week from received payment.

badjuju- I apologize for the bad choice of word "constantly". I have seen you list tags with ZL1 and COPO. I defend you right to sell anything you like regardless if I agree with it or not. In this case I don't dig it and I don't think I will be looking for tags to sell myself no matter how much I can make at it. I also never titled you with "deadbeat seller".

Marlin- I also apologize to you if I misled you on this auction.

Darren

Good for you Darren! I think that a lot of people agree with you even if they won't say it.

Thanks Darren, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't hooked up with the same guy that Rich is dealing with. I don't like seeing tags for sale on EBAY either, people buy them with a specific purpose in mind which goes against our grain.

Seller; a simple statement regarding the fact that you were not Rich's seller would have sufficed. I didn't read your email, nor did I retract my bid - I chose to stand behind my bid just in case you were legit. It looks like you are.
