He bought it at the Kruse Auction after it didn't sell. Yes he knows about all the wrong stuff... I think it is the Crown of his collection...........

The Marti Report finally came in. The guy I got the car from had ordered it so I haven't seen it yet. It looks like everything on the car is original to it and it is one of 24 with that engine/trans combo. Not too shabby I'd say. Time to start on it now!

Jason,

-------Did you happen to buy the car from a divorce lawyer named Dick P? He had a Ranchero that sounds exactly like the one you have described. Even the black repaint. My memory says he was from Manhattan Beach when I knew him back in the early 90s. Nice guy. Would like to get in touch with him again. Could the world be that small?........Bill S

I didn't but the guy I got it from may have. He was just "flipping the car". The guys brother had a 65 Vette roadster if that helps. I have the old registrations and will check them out when I am near them.

So it is a 4-speed C-code? And does it have the Drag Pack?

I'm finally holding the Marti report in my hands. It is a C- code 429 Cobra Jet car with the following options:

Bright Gold Metallic Paint
Black Bench seat
3.25 Standard Axle ratio
4 speed close ratio transmission
two tone hood paint
emissions
Visibility light group
F70X14 raised white letter tires
Power discs
Power steering
AM/FM stereo radio
Hideaway headlights
Tinted glass-complete

One of 24 with this engine/trans. Sorry no drag pack as you probably already figured out.

Here is a picture of the Marti Report. I don't have a scanner here, this is the best I could do. Why did you want a pic anyway?

Great, I was just curious. Any idea of the value of one of these cars restored? I'm a little in the dark since there are so few comps out there.
