I mis read the vin, it's published as 1243379N554977 and saw the 3's next to each other and that tells you it's a 6 cyl. There is an extra digit though as 12337 is a 6cyl coupe and 12437 is an 8 cyl coupe. Wonder which number is the typo?

Back in the 70's I remember several people that use to make those in line 6 scream at the strip, I guess everyone lost interest in that. I remember two 67-8 Camaros that ran that way, sounded like angry bumble bees but cool.

"Ha, because the auto trans was an option in the 1969 Z-28."

Are you serious are joking? I have never seen a 69 auto Z-28 before. New info for me if that is the case, I stand corrected.

Sarcasim maybe hard to pick up over the internet. No, the automatic transmisson was NOT an option on the 1969 Camaro Z-28. I do not believe it became a Z28 option until 1970.

I have seen dozens of 69 Z/28's on Ebay with automatic, A/C, Original 350 and 396 engines, a couple of 427's, some have tac's, some dont, original 10 bolts, I have even seen a really, really, rare, totally original 454, LS7, Automatic 69 Z/28 with a factory tunnel ram and snorkle hood...
Where do these idiots come from.

The automatic became an option on the Z-28 only after the engine went to hydraulic lifters with the 350 LT-1. The solid lifter 302 was never mated to an automatic on a production car. (how I hate the word never, I feel it coming now)

Sorry Motown, the auto became available in the Z in 70 and they had solid lifters through 72
