Wish I knew about the car, I just bought a '67 427 Benchmark car at the NCRS show in Waco on Saturday.
Also, Due to complications on the hood stripe, the 427 cars were only produced at the St. Louis plant. I never knew about the side pipe issue at AO Smith. |

TimG,
I will have to check this out. I have it in my notes from my car's restoration somewhere. I'll get back to you later in the week. Assuming Mark's car is everything he claims it to be (He is an honest guy!) then I bet your kicking yourself! 435 cars are bringing huge amounts of money. Restored/unrestored/original motor or not. I would like to see your car though - Corvettes seem to be in hinding at this board. -Dan

I bought one of the Corvettes that Chris Piscitello owns.
He has 12 '67 427 Bloomington Gold cars in total and wanted to sell a few. This car was not one he brought to the show. Olredalert, yes, I was standing there as Gary Summerville unloaded that beautiful fuelie. The car is stunning and went Top Flight. He said they were still putting parts on the car up to the time they left. He sure knows lots about those fuelie cars. A friend with a '65 fuelie had the unit rebuilt and it would not start, he worked for a week on the thing with no luck. Within a few minutes, Gary had the problem figured out. |

Tim,
-----Chris is a very good friend,as is Joe D.Im envious.Chris had mentioned to me that he was going to downsize a bit.Usually that means that the worst will go,but in Chris's case there are no worst 67s,so I know you got an unbelieveable car.Which one were you lucky enough to nab? -----I knew that the fuelie would make a good car as it was never hit or damaged and the original engine had never been out of the car.It just took a guy like Gary to see the resto thru to conclusion. He needs to change the front springs out for a better height and then the car will be perfect! -----Once again,congratulations!........Bill S |

Yes, the front needed to be lowered a bit. It is one of the most beautiful cars I have seen.
I purchased the yellow/black 427/390 horse four speed convertible car. It has the window sticker, tank sticker, POP, dealer sales invoice and is Bloomington Gold, Bloomington Survivor and Bloomington Benchmark car. As it has never been flignt judged, I want to do that and have it Bow Tie judged also. |
