Everyone,

I was waiting for the same thing, what is Ms.Gibb going to come up with for Tim on this funny car. I alone have spent hours upon hours trying to help Tim find the history of his car by making phone calls, contacting old drag racers, and going through hundreds of drag car pictures from the days. I myself had narrowed it down to one or two cars but I really felt that it was a "possible" backup car of Dick Harrells not that it "was". I told Tim that Vallerie was restoring the AHRA Champion car which she told me it was an "extended nose" car not a stock body with extended wheelbase.

Here is what is known and not known about Tims car. He knows and has always said the rear spoiler was added. Now what most do not know about the car is that there has been bodywork done to the decklid in that area. Almost like a molded in spoiler was removed so a stock Camaro spoiler could be installed since it was wider. Also there are pictures of the rear spoiler on Dick's cars that are not even the same design from one car to the next. The tinwork is identical to what is in the pictures of the stock body car I have of Dick's. The body prop rod placement is exactly the same. There are a few other small details that I will not mention here. This does not prove that Tim's car is a Dick Harrell car but it does not discount it either. We will have to wait and see what Ms.Gibb provides Tim to make the final decision. Tim has never advertised or said that his car was a Dick Harrell body. In actuality he had me doing research to disprove the fact that it was a Dick Harrell car and I have ended up to the conclusions below.

Here is a list of the cars that I have researched and found without a doubt are not Tims car:

Mike Burkhart's Doran Chevrolet f/c: had functioning lh door
Kelly Chadwick's extended nose f/c
Bob Steakly's car
Jim Kirby's car
Rick Schroeders car: which became the Whipple & McCullough car. That car was a butcher job of Rick's 68 Camaro.
"Super Camaro" driven by Perry Wyatt,Sr. His son helped prove this car was not it: different tinwork and wheelopenings and other details.
"Sci-Fi" Camaro
"Tuff-Enuf" Camaro driven by Kosty Ivanoff

These are the major well known cars of the day and there were others but not many done by Don Hardy. One thing I forgot to mention is that Tim knows, and has known since day one, that the chassis is not the original one and he has never claimed it to be.

I too will miss Tim's comments and input on this site. He has added some <font color="red">c</font color><font color="green">o</font color><font color="orange">l</font color><font color="blue">o</font color><font color="purple">r</font color> to the normal commentary here. I just wish I could have been there this weekend to see the "sight" as some of you have phrased it.

I am not going to make any statements as to what this car is, except that it is a 69 Camaro f/c body built in 1969. Thanks for reading this post as I know it is long. Eventually he will miss all of us .......................RatPack...............

He can hide from the rest of you but I am only a few miles away!!!!

Tim,

You will be missed. I do hope that you reconsider and give those who have upset you another chance. You are too good a friend to leave the site over a few of us who may have been perhaps too helpful.... anyway I understand.

Phil

Thanks for the assistance you gave me Tim. Your knowledge and help will be missed so we hope you reconsider. I've seen this kind of thing happen on every single message board I go to and usually the people return to help others as I hope you will. Good luck with the F/C, all I can say is "pretty cool" regardless of the history.

Just talked to Tim at length about situation. He is en-route to Daytona and thanks those who support him. Developments concerning F/C are being gathered.
