Those knobs were for the multiplex option on a 68 Camaro with the D55 console. They controlled the fader, tone, volume, and balance of the radio and speakers. It is very rare to see one of these. This car was the first one I had seen with it in the console, have seen many non-console underdash units. At the time Milt Robson owned the car and the history & documentation is unreal. One neat thing is for anyone that has John Hoopers 67-68 Camaro Reference Book there is a GM photo of this car at the top of page 236. Most would not pick up on it, but the A-pillars are of a convertible.................... Rat Pack, I am confused. Why wouldn't the A pillars be of a convertible? Or, in other words, on this car, why would anything else be expected? I know there is just this one example but it is a convertible, a 68 convertible Z28.

I know it is a convertible and don't know why you are confused. Look in Hoopers book it does not even reference the car in the picture is the lone 68 Z28 convertible. Most people would not even catch that and would assume it was a regular Z28 coupe. I believe that this is the only time this car was put into a reference book, excluding magazine coverage it has gotten since it was found.....................RatPack................. .......
