Our Nova had a Van emblem on it, and our Camaro had a Francis emblem. Thanks for keeping an eye out Earl! I think it's neat that they have them.

There is also a "KLINE" CHEVROLET located in the Va. Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk Virginia area...but I don't know if they sold any yenko's. Once in a while I see a retangular chrome emblem reading "KLINE" wth the background being black...I will look for them if someone can use them.
....Super chevy is this weekend in Petersburg Va.!!! |

Grossman was in script with MINNEAPOLIS in block letters underneath, right? I have one somewhere in my garage of a 1968 Impala I owned. I think some of the Minneapolis is missing which was common on these.

Working at a dealer it is interesting to read about all the ideas about dealer emblems/stickers. My take on this (working at dealers for years now) is that their were probably a LOT less emblems/stickers originaly on supercars than any of us think. First of all they were high performance cars that looked sharp and were usually bought by young people. They would be removed most likely within the first day or two of ownership because they were viewed as eyesores. Even in modern times I have 4 out of 10 people personally ask me "Please don't put a sticker on the back of my car, I hate that! It is ok if you put plate frames on the car but that is all that I am willing to advertise for you". These are on SUV's and Escorts! Think about what you have done on the every day drivers that you own. You most likely have peeled them off. I for one think they are cool and have them on my cars but I bet most supercar original owners never had them applied or removed them promptly. Other things that happened were they were actually screwed or bolted on to the rear of the car making them a lot harder to do away with, and old timers have told me that the dealers would tell the customer that they would only do the deal the customer wanted if they left the dealer name on the back for the advertisement. Don't forget that if the car was traded in the new dealer would remove the original dealers name as to they would not want to advertise for someone else.

Frank,
You make an interesting point. Alot of it had to do with whether or not it was a customer order car or stock order. Just as today more stock orders get the emblems/decals than do customer orders. The name plates were also changed based on where the customers brought the cars in for service. |

When I bought my car new I specifically asked the dealer to leave their emblem off the car. This was a common request back then.
