I don't want to step on anyones toes but is it completely unreasonable that someone that does'nt have one of the 69 original ZL1's could have the oportunity to have a piece of history as well?

35# is the 35th year for the car. That is why the owner will not switch...BKH

Dave..I think that Matt Murphy of GMMG just wanted to make sure that the first 8-10 car were orig. ZL1 colors. I don't think he wanted to restrict orig colors to only them. Matt had contacted me early on and reuqested that I contact as many orig. ZL1 owners as possible in order to give them first shot at them. I found who I could think of and many ordered them but some might not have made up their minds for awhile and Matt is still running a business and can't hold them forever. I appreciate the fact that Matt made the effort to first offer them to the orig. owners. Matt is going to try and be at the Reunion and deliver my car there at the same time but he also has to be at the F body gathering in Bowling Green the same weekend. He is a Die Hard Camaro guy and I really appreciate the cars he is building. I saw my new car last week at the Berger show and fell in Love with it. The 35 car might have some significance to the Buyer that we are not aware of.

Boy, that was a toughy! Sometimes it's just TOO obvious!

I understand the business aspect of the deal, and Matt has to do what is right for GMMG. I just thought it would be neat to match up as many of the new ZL-1 cars with the old ZL-1 cars (and their owners) as possible, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Maybe sometime down the road the 2 cars will meet up.

Who owns 1969 ZL-1 #69..and is the new Camaro #69 being held back from him too?
Or does this not apply...

According to Eds registry, # 69 was wrecked and has no owner listed . I assume that implies that the car no longer exists. The new # 69 is probably already sold but again I don't think any were held back from anybody.

Charlie, You are right--I didn't jump on the band wagon right away. I did want one when I went to the Tom Henry show. Scott Sottlemeyer thought they could get me #35 or least switch numbers. I did talk to Matt Murphy (very nice to talk to) but #35 was taken already committed to. Matt tried to trade him other numbers but he would not do it as he wanted the anniversary #35.. I wanted that number of course to match my '69 #35 but I was too LATE.. Maybe down the road I'll get one that might come up for sale. Looking forward to seeing one at the Reunion.
Thanks, Mark <font color="blue"> </font color>

I guess I took it for granted that GMMG was asking some of the owners of the 1969 cars if they were interested, as they are still new cars and don't have to be treated any differently sales-wise I guess. So, I can see GMMG's point of just worrying about selling the cars, but I can also see Mark's point where some other original ZL-1 owners got matching #s, while he didn't. Just one of those things I suppose.
