Default Re: Canadian 9010/9737 = M20 or M21

Kurt/Pete;
I stand corrected, the A,B, or C, is not on the POP as I had thought.

My underlying quest with this post is to determine if GM changed COPO 9737 for the Canadian cars vs. the Yenko cars by putting the M21 into the Yenkos only?

On the Canadian documentation it lists COPO 9737AA, on Yenko's order form is lists COPO 9737CA - but Yenko was ordering 4speeds w/ power steering on this particular form, and I don't have his order form for 4speeds without p/s like the Canadian cars. I think the difference in the suffix letters pertains to the power steering?? or the M21 vs. the M20??? Any thoughts?

JoeC: You are correct with the deciphering of the '133' on the POP.

Talked to the origianl salesman of my car this morning. He says he still has the lists of what all the COPO packages included. He'll get back to me next week and fax the info to me. Stay tuned.

Pete,
That would be great documentation. If it includes 69's, I'd be interested in a copy.
The ECL code on the trans is dependent on many variables. No easy to decode and we've tried using hundreds of datapoints.
Take a look at that 931AA0 code and the others on the sheet. Does the codes follow any of the paint colors or engine options? Just a thought.
Yup, it would look like the 9737 package is different on this car with the different ECL. Hard to tell what drove the difference though. Could be any change to the package.

Don't know if this helps,but on my 1970 L-78 Chevelle made Oct.69.The original trans tag on it says C 70 W.It is a turbo 400.the Vin# is stamped on the drivers side below the pan.CW is also painted on pass. side of trans case and CW is on the buildsheet.

While you are talking about trans codes on the '70 COPOs, here is a question for you:

On an automatic car, what is the code stamped on the trans? Was it 70Wxxx or 70CWxxx I have read both, and Marlin says just the "W", but I'm just curious if anyone has actually seen an original 400th and what was stamped on it. Not doubting you, Marlin, just curious!

M20 base default 4-speed trans.

Marlin. Still waiting. It's suppose to be coming. Be patient, and I'll report ASAP.
