"Camaro Untold Secrets" by Wayne Guinn. This book should be in the rarity section at Amazon. There is a copy at Amazon for $87.50. I'll asked Santa for it but I'm sure I'll I will get it a lump of coal instead. Thanks William.

There is a plain Jane car in Nebraska with the JL-8 option. Owner's brother bought it from a dealer when it was one or two years old. X44, Dusk Blue with white vinyl top and white interior. He is checking to see if he has the protecto-plate.

I think so. I have never seen any Chevy doc stating JL8 was dropped as an option but it was, as of June. Latest car in the CRG db was produced 1st week June. AIM notation states discontinued 7-21-69.
Everyone should read Paul Van Valkenburgh's book Chevrolet=Racing? to gain a complete understanding of the JL8 option-and why it did not initially solve the severe brake fade problem the Trans-Am cars were experiencing. |
