I agree with Charley; most people want a collector car they can drive to a local show or cruise and show off to their friends. I'm a big Day Two guy, but a serious race car has limited desirability because you can't just jump in it and go get some ice cream if you want whenever you want. JMHO.

The show board mentions that it is a replacement block.

I think the vintage race look is cool as well, but unless that race trim has pedigree it will only devalue the car. For example, compare this car in race trim to Malcom Durham's Strip Blazer, Barnhart's car or the Harrell ZL1. I'd have put this green back to stock, but obviously would keep Durham's, Barnhart's or Harrell's car in race trim.

I agree with Marlin..It needs to be a well known raced car with significant history, otherwise put it back to stock trim.
A few years back, someone took a stock Malibu and made it into a vintage dragstrip appearing car.Even lettered the door & all the decals on the fender.Completely fictional..Took it to certain gatherings, and all came up & oooh & ahhed all over it.Some even saying they remember the car from years past.He just smiled & tell fabricated stories about it while shaking their hands, knowing full well their memory wasn't accurate,as he just created it to see the reaction he'd receive.

I asked the seller to send, or post photos of the TT, rear stamp, and body stamps, but the request just bounces back as undeliverable.

I do agree with the theory of If the car is a well known drag car then it should stay that way, but I also believe that if it was an early transformation like say right from the factory to the track then I think it should stay that way. I only say this because it really wasn't ever a street car then. Technically the car lived its life on the track. I do love a stock ZL1, but it is so cool to see something that was bought and immediately transformed with the purpose of kicking butt in the 1/4. With this one having a replacement block I would have stuck with the drag racing livery. I am not in disagreement with anyone here I'm just looking at it from a different perspective. By the way I live for the information everyone on here posts. You are all an inspiration to me being a Generation X'er and I mean no disrespect at all.

Of all the ZL1's maybe 10 have their orig. blocks so to me the block does not make that much of a difference in the greater scheme of things.
