That's the beauty if sites like this. Many including me would never know about cars like this without people sharing them here.

Here a couple of pics showing the hood and the remains of the vinyl top:
![]() ![]() The PO had to move the car outside a few months back and removed the Parnelli Jones emblems for safe keeping. Here's a pic: ![]() I may have some details wrong, because my buddy was trying to relay the story to me at the same time he was trying to get the car loaded and out of there, but here's the deal as I understand it. The PO's uncle worked for or with Parnelli Jones in some capacity, and received this car either for free or at a significant discount due to that relationship. When the uncle retired, he moved to Oregon, took the car with him, and subsequently passed away. A few years back, the PO finally talked his aunt into selling him the car and trailered it back to Nebraska, but never did anything with it. He reluctantly decided to sell it to my buddy in order to free up cash to complete the restoration of a 67 Chevelle SS396 that he's owned since he was a kid. |

Well, at least the lineage has not been lost!
Was the hood part of the package? |

That's a rare piece, Ford guys would love to see that at a SAAC show or Mustang show pulling in just as it is. Mind-blowing. I knew it was a dealership thing, but I didn't know it was HIS dealership. Wild.

It's unusual enough that it has to be part of the package. I've never seen a scoop design quite like it and certainly never on a 68-69 Fairlane/Torino. |

I know, right? I thought I'd pretty much seen or heard of at least one of everything from the 60s, and then this pops up. |

The Cyclone 500 I've not only heard of, I've seen an orange one in person. The Cougar 500 I'm not sure. Sounds familiar, but I can't place it off the top of my head and maybe I'm thinking of something else. |

He calls it available Wilderness Green instead of correct Washington Green I am sure he will amend it. http://www.streetlegaltv.com/news/eb...orino-type-nw/

Didn't realize I had such an obvious typo on the color.
For my book (https://www.facebook.com/sellingmuscle), I've helped solve the riddle of the Cyclone and Cougar 500s thanks to the assistance from a few Cougar folks plus my friend who's into 1967 Fords (maybe you saw his wagon at MCACN?). I've relayed some of the info to the Legendary website posted above. 5.0, do you collect old literature? I'm looking for the Ford World issue posted on that website. |
