While I have never seen a Z28 with 14" tire sticker, I have seen non Z28s with 15" wheel sticker.........just my hands on experience

Yup, you're right Stefano,...all 68Z's had 15x6' wheels and a 6K redline tach. The traction bars were for the 67Z's.

15" tires make it highly likely that it was a Z. If it's a 3.73 or numerically higher, even more likely. But there is no way to tell for sure with a '68....

Good tips guys. Ill make a return visit and check for things like the stripe paint etc. Still on the fence with the price. Figure a whole mo setup is in the 10k range and a frame off resto in the 45k range more or less would put it in the 65k range done. Looks like they are selling in the 60 to 80k range for nom cars?

There is a slight chance that I could get some paper. This is the second owner, the lady is going through a divorce and her x husbands uncle is the original owner, and he owns a chevy dealership that is still in business. However, due to the divorce he wont give her the papereork.

Supposedly this car was ordered and the guy got drafted to nam and when it came in the family didnt want to take delivery so the uncle kept it as the 69s were almost out and everyone wanted a 69.

At least thats her story. She also was awarded in the divorce two plain jane 68's and several later years irocs and one later z vert.

I would be over there yesterday with the $9500. You could probably get $10k for the Z/SS car as-is if it isn't too bad.

Most of the parts are old race parts headers, traction bars etc not sure they would be much value.

I bet it would look good though with the white vinyl top and rs.

Positive it is a real rs, and that is all still there. Its got the correct wire harness and holes in back for same. Asssume that like 69 rs means all the bright work and trim.
