I spent at least 1 hour yesterday searching my Nova oem parts manual. Cannot find this part in it.

Looked through my 71 assembly manual and it is not there -- 68 Nova only?

My 71SS was a virgin car when I got it. And it did not have this shield. Note in the assembly manual, it states that it is Left Hand only. So that's why there is an absence of a right side shield on my 68 parts car. Could be a 68 only part. Someone should check a 69 assembly manual.

1st Gen Camaro also had these shields, apparently the same part numbers from what I can find out. You can buy the clips I see. Not sure where.

Looked through my 69 assembly manual and it not there also. </div></div> The 69 granny car I sold Bill Rose had a factory installed rubber flap on the driver's side. I always thought the flap was there to shield the automatic transmission linkage assembly. I guess it could shield other components as well. Perhaps it was only on automatic cars??? wilma

A little slow in chimming in here, These shots are form the Grady 69 L78 4 speed Nova built in Nov. 68, restored in 07 08, car had around 7K miles. As far as I know this splash was there to protect the bulkhead connector for water. Think about it.. Same as every 69 Camaro I have done too.

I parted a 69 L78 Nova that had this flap (orig 4 spd)and the 69 L78 Nova I sold had it I believe. I still have one off these kicking around the garage somewhere, sold one recently
