I have the cam, and the 327. Although I was planning to use a stock L79 cam, I thought maybe I could use this one.

I would go with a Z28 style intake, 2.02 valve heads, and probably a 780 Holley.
</div></div> sounds like a good plan to me. maybe even a 750 DP.

I run a stock L79 cam in the 355 in my 1967 Camaro. Z28 intake, 202 186 heads, flat tops, 750 edelbrock carb. Went 13.20 @104 at the track. Sounds healthy too.

M, I'm running something similar in my 327. It's around .510 &amp; 300 duration. I am running the HD springs (opened up the heads) guide plates and roller tip rockers. I have the Z intake (minus the plenum w/ 1&quot; spacer) and a 780 carb (vac sec) ...Very rough with an Auto unless you have a nice stall converter (4000) but would be ok with a stick. I'm also running a 4:10 gear which makes this a very streetable combination with a nice low end (not quite ideal, reccomend at least 4.56 gear to be a bit stronger) and unlimited top end on the street.

I can dig up more of the specs later if needed.

That's with a 462 head w/ 1.94's. I also cc'd the heads at 64 and have a .003 deck w/ Old TRW flat tops (cut an releifed a bit). I'm using Manley Proflow valves.

Are you going to stay with the glide, or go with something else?

Automatic or manual transmission is a HUGE factor in camshaft selection. Keep in mind that Chevrolet never made an automatic L79 car.

We are going with a 4 speed, even though I have the original 'glide. I figured that if my Yenko and Ben's SS were both 4 speeds, Danny should get one too - no a/t's, especially not a wimpy 'glide. So, after I realized last year that I had bought the wrong flywheel (11.0&quot for Ben's clutch kit (10.5&quot that I bought about 8 years ago, I decided that I might was well just complete the 11.0&quot; setup for Ben's car and bought a 621 and an 11.0&quot; clutch. That left me with an excess 403 and a 10.5&quot; clutch - so, with a little help from my friends (thanks Dennis!) Danny now has a Muncie 4speed setup for the '67 Camaro.

Once we (I) decided to go with a 4 speed, I figured I should really think about either the L79 or LT1 cams for it!

Is there any way to keep a project under control??

Once I see this on his face, it won't matter any more!

Cam it up M. Just make sure you jack the back up and do the necessary changes to make that cam work!

Control of project is only relevent to cost/budget/insanity level.
In this case, maybe safety concerns for the youthful driver.

We used a pretty much stock bottom end on my RG 68 Camaro. Used early double hump heads, 65ish I believe with, if I remember 54 cc 1.94 heads.(been a while) I used the repo L79 cam with a Holley contender intake which is built off the LT/1 blue print. I only went with a 600cfm Holley. I like the setup very well. It's user friendly, and has exactly what I wanted from it. Rear end is a 3.08 with tall tires so it's not fast out of the hole, but probably would run 140. It doesn't give up before I do.

Good decision to keep your fathers name rolling...
