I don't see that exaggerated over spray either on the water pump by pass hose...

Those are great pics but for the life of me I can't figure out the orange overspray on the exhaust manifolds.

awesome pics and car....based on the orange overspray, could this have been dealer installed alum. heads?? I assume GM would not have changed the heads after assembling and painting the motor... things that make you go...'hmmmmmm'..

awesome car!!! Good Luck with it!!

.... or was this car "dealer exchanged" .... and the heads were installed at the previous dealer?

My experience with L89 Corvettes is there is overspray on the exhaust manifolds. Who knows why, but it's accepted that the exhaust has orange overspray from the engine painting. I think this is a real L89 car.....So cool...........

you're right, but how did it hit the manifolds and not the heads(?) is the question at hand....odd.

It doesn't look like any orange is on the head at all and quite a bit on the exhaust manifolds. I also never liked the restored cars with the orange painted heater bypass hose and front of the intake manifold. This pic shows how clean they typically were.

The hood hinges look bare as if they have no phosphate plating like the hood latch shows. Early smog valve with the wire standoff. Great pics thanks for posting!
