Understood, but someone with a plate like yours will probably see your auction and mislead others on ebay next week with the same description.

I consider this a YENKO (reproduction) specific license plate.

At the risk of being stupid...

does anyone think someone who actually OWNS a Yenko would NOT have the wherewithal to know this isn't a Yenko specific item?

People use 'Yenko' Motion' and other words simply as 'key' words during a search....I personally don't find this misleading. Is it really a big deal?

Actually i do find it misleading. He says in the ad that its a yenko piece. Its a chevy piece...What about the people who dont have yenkos or the knowledge and would like to have it soley because they think it identifies with yenko.. I think he's dumb like a fox myself. BTW Isnt the right side of that plate repainted?? color looks off to me.

The second line, just under the heading is

Chevrolet Nova, Camaro, Corvette, Corvair, Vega, GM

so those show up in a word search too, not just Yenko. Also, these will show up in a search, SS, SuperSport, Chevy, 1969, 1970. Had I been listing that plate, I would have filled in even more key words in the boxes that are above the description and tried to get even more viewers. 350, 396 and 427 come to mind as well as Rally Sport, and ZL1. Marketing is the name of the game when listing on the bay.

Seriously? going to go into insults and then trying to trash the plate? Thankfully as a seasoned member on other forums I know enough to not let one ignorant and rude person like you tarnish my views of the board ( especially as a new member ).

Was I missinformed as to the origin of the plate? YES

Did I do research and ask many "experts" about the origins of the plate? YES

Do I feel my listing is in any way ripping someone off? NO

Your argument is the same as saying that b/c I put Nova in the title that it could lead someone to purchase thinking it is a Nova specific item. Unless someone has a ton of money to just throw around, no one is going to see a key word in an ebay listing on a plate that they know nothing about and throw down a bid for a couple hundred dollars.

With that said, if you would like to share any information regarding the history of the plate I would be very happy to hear it. However if your only in this thread to be confrontational then I kindly ask you do not continue to post in it.

Wow, looks like I clearly made the wrong choice by joining this forum and thinking i could learn something. I will stick to forums that are not overrun with drama queens.

I also have to say that I am very surprised that moderators allow this kind of childish behavior. Does wonders for attracting new members and the reputation of this community. I for one will be happy to share this experience with others! Enjoy your theater gentlemen.

... I don't see any problem with trying to attract Yenko buyers to a plate like this...

... Good luck on the sale....

... and welcome to the site
