Some argue that special color combinations are not true COPO cars since the paint and interior were really not special or different from what was avialable. A ZL1 or COPO Camaro was a different combination of parts that had to be put together for those options. Most folks agree that this particular color combination was COPO ordered. What does everyone think?

Another rare 67 color/combo was a black coupe with blue stinger and interior. I don't know if this was a copo deal or you could normally order it. I think they only made a few of this combination.

...I believe they have only accounted for only FOUR known to exist in this combination. Back when the economy was a bit stronger a good few years ago I believe one of these was bought/sold by a well known Texas Corvette collector for $640K. In 2008, a Black/Blue stinger/Blue interior '67 435 roadster w/12K miles on it made the NCRS circuit for awhile around that time. I know the owner and it is one stunning color combination. |

Steve Bramati will have to chime in here. He is the in house expert in rare '67 Corvettes!

Cool tank sheet, thanks for posting that!
Keeping in mind the box is for Copo/Fleet and Shop Orders, is S1214 actually known to be a Copo # or could it be perhaps a Shop Order or even Fleet code also is there something more on this sheet to indicate a Copo or otherwise? Also what's the notation under power steering that looks like A Baldwin, perhaps a GM employee name? It's not Baldwin Chevy's dealer code, what dealer was 271 in Zone 12 anyway? A Baldwin is the original owner we believe. There's been no contact with him. A rare export silver/red big block is in Sheboygan, WI. It was an export car with lots of paperwork.
We have nothing more on the COPO option with this car other than the S1214. |

Very cool car either way but again is S1214 actually known to be a Copo # or could it perhaps be a Shop Order #?
I've read about GM execs using S/O's to get something special for their cars before, Wingate's Clippinger delivered '67 coupe is one also may be worth comparing as the tank sheet is online and it appears to be a # in the box but is too faint to see? http://www.67fso.com/ Info regarding the Wingate car seems to suggest it's the only '67 S/O car, maybe not? Here's a copy of a window sticker for a '65 fuelie. Rare car, but nothing unusual as far as options go. I've never understood why there's a number in the COPO box.
