They were. The red one ended up in Chicago for a couple of years and the green monster in Penna. where it still resides with its crank of an owner.

Here is the red one when it was originally found by Warren Malkin in the early 1990s.

neal owned and restored many deuces. he showed me his garage years ago before his divorce and he had 5 deuces in there all done ,
plus his orange one he didnt restore yet. i almost fainted on the spot. if these where in NY... its possible they were his cars and restorations. he told me he knew of a few others waiting to be plucked up that were hidden away. he wouldnt tell me where of course... but i heard his health is failing in recent years. he still works on my dads vehicles when something breaks. i dont think he has anymore left. dad said he still has a mid year vette he cruises around tho.

Hey, I resemble that remark. I knew Neal had an orange Deuce he was working on, and an L78 car (I think) but didn't know of any other deuces besides the red and green ones.

Joey, I think Neal had at least one more..... Could it have been the silver Wallace car now owned by Mike A?

Heck if I know, maybe? Hey guess what...I actually took mine out for a ride today... Didn't viciously abuse it like you would have, but at least its not a garage queen today.

my memory could be failing me... that incident was about 15 years ago. i do remember the green, red and orange yenkos like it was yesterday. maybe im taking the L78 car into account. was it a dusk blue L-78? the last time i actually saw neal was about 8 years ago, my old man bought a wrecked 69 X-44 car off him for parts. we dragged out from behind his shop and i havent been there since. my dad still talks to him a few times a year though. ill have to make a point of stopping by his shop next time im down that way and refresh my memory.
