Someone at the factory painted the red stripes either by mistake or on purpose, who knows, they were not ordered in red, there was no option for red stripes on a Z28.

If I remember correctly, Dan had the car for sale shortly after the Z/28 display and after speaking to Dan extensively about the car I decided not to buy it. Congratulation on buying the car.

Miket, as far as I know, they DID offer those red stripes with that color as a factory option.

This has been discussed on here before, and I know someone more knowledgeable will chime in here.

That's interesting,I hope it turns out that there was a red stripe option for 69 Z28, it had to be a very rare option if so,I grew up with these cars in that era, I have never seen or heard of the option, nothing in any dealer brochures ,but GM had a lot of options that year, Thanks

Yes, I knew about the red stripe option on SS cars, I did not know that red stripes were an option on 1969 Z28 cars, but I am always willing to learn more,
Thanks
