I completely agree with SS427. The resto business is a labor of love, not fortune. People do not understand how much time we suck up in the shop just to make the results worthy of being considered a quality representation of ourselves. I've spent many nights in the shop working for nothing but my reputation. This 72 reminds me of my first car. I look back now and say, "boy did I pay too much for a car I should have not restored"! Definatley good practice before he touches that Nova!!!

If that trunk pan was installed by a body shop, they should choose a different career.

If my labor wasn't practically free when I was a teenager I wasn't working hard enough...
The only way to learn how to get out of a jam is to get yourself in one, besides he needs to get a few yard restos under his belt before he starts on what ever he REALLY wants to build in 10-15 years when he learns what not to do because he has cost himself twice the money and 5 fold in labor doing it the "wrong" way.

Here is Matt,
Looks like the passenger lower inner wheel well will need at least a patch. Not much of the drop off left Driver side inner looks better. But the drop off is probably too far gone. |
