Stunning....I like the low mileage, unrestored originals. Anything else you can tell us about it? Did you get any owner history or original paperwork along with the car?

I bought the car at a Chevrolet dealership in Opelika, Alabama in July. I located and spoke to the original owner (he lives near me), just after I bought the car. It appears he seldom drove it. The car was manufactured at the GM-Doraville plant (7 miles from my home) and was sold new at the Nash Chevrolet dealership in Lawrenceville, Georgia (about 25 miles from my home). I have the original build sheet (which I found stuck in the springs in the passenger bucket seat), owner's manual, warranty book with protect-o-plate, and a paper tag on the back of the front carpet (dated 1/7/65). No window sticker or sales invoice, unfortunately.

That is one of the nicest unmolested 300 horse 4spd coupes I have ever seen. Very nice. I can only imagine the number of times you have to say "It's not for sale" when driving anywhere around Atlanta.
What is the rear end gear ratio? If it is a 355 or deeper that car would get up from zero to 40-50 before you realize it. The M20 makes it amazingly quick with the steep first gear.

Rear axle is a G94 12-bolt 3.31:1. And yes it gets fast pretty quick for a big car.

Me too . . when the '65 cars came out (fall of 1964) I was 12 years old, and I lusted after the new Impala. I finally bought my first (non-SS) in 1970. It was stolen in 1979, and it took me 32 years to find the replacement.
