Lynn,
It was soldered at the tank where it clips on as was the overflow hose clip.

Well crap. You guys are driving me crazy. Now I have conflictly info.
I always thought there was just a touch of solder on the clip right at the tank. Reason I thought so, is the little outside clip looks pretty wimpy, and I would be afraid it could pop of if I did a wheelie and hit hard (OK, what I <span style="font-weight: bold">really</span> mean is hit a big pot hole, but seriously, the wheelie sounds better).

On the Chevelle radiators I've taken apart for restoration there is always a small amount of solder under the part # part of the tag that attaches to the radiator to secure it. This is not usually visible until the tag is removed. Just my observation.

I think the tag was clipped on and whatever solder flowed behind the clip happened.
I've seen them with none and with a bunch...
