Great pictures Dan. I will try to get some up later. I had a great time also and can't wait to do it again next year. It was good seeing you, everyone I talked to and the great variety of cars. Thanks to Rick Pauley for coming over and lending a helping hand with Jerry and me on my carb issue.
Kurt

Awesome Jim! You've got to get your LS6 to MCACN...and get me a write up and pics for the Members Rides section!

Thanks Sam. My best pass was . That's the quickest ET so far but the car REALLY needs some gears. I did have a 109.52 on the 12.98 run which is the fastest MPH for the car. The 3.73's with 28" tall tires are not working real good with the small in motor. I was going through the traps at only 5200rpm. I also was not trying to leave too hard off the line, I don't want to break anything. I made 9 passes. 2 of them I missed a gear the current shifter still needs more work . Other than those two bad runs the car was very consistant. 12.90, 12.96, 12.98, 13.00, 13.12, 13.14 and 13.15. Kurt

Thats really good Kurt. Consistent! I think .56's would really do that car justice. 12.50's all day I bet, maybe even a little better.

As always, great to spend time with old friends, and meet new ones. Mix in some really cool cars, many doing their thing on the drag strip, does not get any better then that.
Thanks to RT 66 Raceway for allowing us to spend the day at their facility. Talk about big time, that place is unreal. The first time I pulled from beneath the tower and saw the track, stadium seating etc, overwhelming. The staff was very courteous and kept things running smoothly, hats off to them. Thanks to Dennis Barker and Steve Bimbi with NickeyChicago, Bob Ashton with MCACN and Tamri with MK Insurance who provided food, drinks and other assistance when needed. Of course thanks to everyone who attended, hope each and everyone, whether racing, showing or just watching, had a good time. A couple of highlights for me, one, of course watching Rob and Jon go head to head in the ’69 and 2010 Cameras, and two, one of the last races of the day, Jim Parks going up against Howie’s hired gun in Kim’s Gibb Camaro. Though both were told not to go under 10.00ET, we all knew what was about to happen. As Jim’s car shot out of the hole, so did Kim’s car with the frontend in the air. As it settled down, we watched as both drivers hit their shiftpoints, running side by side. As they crossed the line, the boards lite up with a 9.64 to a 9.98. A couple of posts have mentioned SCR15. Well, thanks to the great turnout of cool cars, both racing and in the show area, RT 66 has extended an invitation for us to return in 2012. What is really neat about this, in 2012 both the SCR and RT 66 will be celebrating their 15th anniversaries, and RT 66 would like to do some sort of nostalgia event(s) to commemorate this milestone.

Great News Tom. I can't tell you how much it hurt to know I couldn't make it this year. First time in 9 years I had to pass. It WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN!
Sign me up for SCR XV RIGHT NOW! The only consolation to the weekend was the time I spent yesterday at Central Illinois Dragway in Havana. The new management pulled out some stops with a true nostalgia day featuring the Nostalgia Super Stock guys and a Special Two-outta-three Match Race between the Midwest Legends: Arnie Beswick and Dick Messino. Great racing, superior showmanship, and as Tom said above, ... Good Times with Good Friends. To cap off the night, Arnie, Dick, and all the NSS guys filed past the crowd on the return road and saluted the crowd, with Arnie standing on the golf cart shouting, "Thanks For Coming Out to see us". That man is a Class Act! Just a thought: SCR XV Nostalgia Meet, ...... Arnie & the Messino Gang and the NSS guys, ...... and 100 or so of the BEST SUPERCARS & Muscle Cars in the NATION? I was lucky enough to be paired up with Tom in Red Alert towards the end of the afternoon. I was driving a black 70 Chevelle and Tom apparently had a problem and didn't make a full pass. Did anyone happen to get a photo of the two of us lined up together ?
And thanks to the Clary's for putting on the event. Cooler weather would be nice next year, though
