Marlin,
Stumbled across this site and discussion while researching information about my employer, Hubler Automotive Group. I was surprised to see the thread about our group and the relationship with Nankivell Chevrolet. I started with Hubler Chevrolet as a salesperson in January 1987, two months after it moved into the current building and held various management positions beginning in 1988. In 2001 I began working in corporate management for the group but still have an office at the Chevrolet dealership. Your notes are pretty accurate but I'll try to update a couple things. First the spelling is Hubler! (Huebler may be some old world spelling but the family has never used it in my history with them.) Frank and Dorothy Hubler had three sons, two of which are still involved with Hubler Automotive Group comprised now by ten locations in central Indiana (Howard sold his portion back to his brothers). Brad and John Hubler run the group while brother Howard now has five collision centers around Indianapolis and also owns a Toyota franchise in St. Augustine, Florida (the Toyota store is not part of the Hubler Group). Brad owns five of the dealerships individually and the majority of the other five. Two of his stores are in Shelbyville, one of which is a Chevrolet store. I don't know if there is any connection to the original Shelbyville Chevrolet dealership you mentioned being owned by Morgan Nankivell. Dorothy survived Frank and is dividing her time between Indianapolis and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Wish I could help you with tracking down the salesperson who sold you the car, but he apparently was no longer with Hubler when I started. I don't remember anyone with the name Jekel. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Sincerely, Marvin Cinnamon Corporate Sales Development Hubler Automotive Group |
