I agree. It's looking like access to a standard NCIB hand search for microfische records has finally been granted. Thats great news.

This information is a good start to help document vehicles.

What if you have paperwork on your rare Corvette and the zone and dealer number are not the ones that this new informaton provides?

Cool to get this much at least!.
No doubt and as Tim notes, lots of docs will probably note dealers other than what was recorded!.
These will probably be simply dismissed as dealer trades or mistakes but if on the buying side something else to consider when making decisions..
Is the info by Vin available to any NCRS member regardless if being the car owner...like the GM Canada info is?.

Maybe I'm wrong on this one but don't some years of NCIB reports have some notation regarding engine size?.
Not always recorded or even correct if it was but noted for some reason like taxing by engine size?.
Maybe it's a taxed total and dividing by some figure gives an idea if SB or BB?.

It is my understanding this is not NCIB related. This is GM shipper documentation that GM approached the NCRS with two years ago. It has taken that long to get to this point. It could possibly lead to more detailed info at a later time.
As for engine designation, MSO info contained weight which indicated SB or BB. I do not know if this released info will contain said weight.
There is info for other than Corvette, but, NCRS only has authorization to release Corvette data.
Regards,
Mark

I was mistaken. It's from internal GM shipping records for Corvette, but no option info.

If GM found the original shipping information-or even any portion of those records sent to the NCIB then that is good news too.
