----Guys,,,Tory was a fireman at the scene during 9/11. I am in awe of he and his fellow fireman and really all the workers in that environment for the great job they did under unbelieveably trying circumstances. Welcome to our sight, Tory. You will really enjoy your time here......Bill S

Neat car. It is for sale on the Team Chevelle site for $16,500 now. It would be neat to see Bill restore this car.

Hi Guys,
Thank You for the warm welcome. I spoke with Bill at length about a week ago and he told me about this site. I usually hang out at Team Chevelle, but this looks like a great site and I am glad to be a part of it. As Bill told everyone, I am a retired New York City Fireman. My Dad was a Fireman for 35 years and I walked not only in his footsteps, but right into his old Firehouse. I had a lot of great memories there as a kid when my Dad worked there. The guys that my Dad trained and worked with showed me the ropes and passed down the tradition. I was blessed to work with some of the best people in the business and those memories I will cherish forever. I was at The World Trade Center on 9/11/01. I am not a hero, I was just doing my job that day. The heroes are the 343 Fireman who were killed that day. They are all my heroes and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of them. I lost quite a few close friends that day and I will never forget them. I have been a certified Chevelleaholic and general car nut all of my life. My first car was my 68 Camaro listed in my signature. This was my Dad's car new. It was given to him as a gift from my Grandfather when Dad returned home from Vietnam. the car was restored with all GM Sheetmetal back in the late 80s and was painted at my Uncle Bobby and Uncle Tony's shop. The color is Fathom Blue and the best part was that it is in the movies right now. The Camaro is in David Chase's "Not Fade Away". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w_uqflpCcU ![]() I purchased the 68 L-79 Malibu back in December 2010. My wife loves 68s and red is her favorite color. The only problem is that she is unwilling to drive a 4 Speed car and there is no way I am going to change it to an automatic. the best thing to do is to sell the car and look for a 68 SS that has an automatic. Yes, I did post the 68 on Team Chevelle, just to gauge interest. Guys, Thank You again for the warm welcome and I am happy to be a member of this site.

I haven't posted in a while, but I just wanted to give an update. I sold the 68 L-79 Malibu to a gentleman in Kentucky. I told him about the site. Hopefully he will join and keep us all updated on the restoration.

The new owner of the red 68 L79 Malibu purchased a green 68 L79 Malibu. This was the car posted on Craigslist in Minnesota. It has a black bucket seat interior. Nothing has been done to either car and he is considering selling one or both. These 2 cars are very special and I wish they were restored by now. If there is any interest, please let me know.
