Diana and I had a great weekend. Always fun to hang with other club members. Icing on the cake to race.

I ran with the NPCA again, made it to the second round where I "gave" a race away. Still trying to get the hang of this bracket/index thing.

Racing Red Alert just keeps getting more exciting the more I get used to her. Thanks to Rob tracking down the guy who setup the rearend, we have her hooking hard now, pulling the frontend as she leaves. As she did in her former life, still twisting, but going straight down the track.

Her are a couple of pics at Gateway. The first on was my fisrt pass Friday, the second picture from Saturday. On the second pass on Sunday word was from the stands she really stood up, which is possible, as that was my best 60' of the weekend.

We were there Friday and spent the day with Bob and Nancy, Helen and Nancy, Tom and Diane, Dennis Cumby, Paul and Jeff Fansler and met (or reaquainted myself) with several of the drag racers of days gone by and got some very nice autographs on a piece of racing history. Great day.

Tom,

Agreed 100%. Always good to spend time with you, Diana, Helen & Nancy, Rick & Annie and we were EXTREMELY happy to see Bob & Nancy Lionberger back in good health and Great spirits. The Musclecar Reunion is a fun event, especially for all us old folks who were there to see these cars in their 'first lives'.

Here's a few of my shots from Friday.

Firesuit Phil

Cool old Stovebolt!

Straight 6 powered.

Some familiar 'friends'.

and more from the 'Legends of Speed' area.

This guy lives about 30 miles South of me. Just completed the car.

And another friend from the St. Louis area. Brian Fox is a chassis builder (KING Chassis) specializing in vintage FEDs. NICE car!

Now let's go to the track.

Another NPCA guy who just switched from injected F/D to a blown motor. Gayle Jenkins was still adjusting to the dramatic power increase. What a ride!

When did you last see a Pinto and a Gremlin side-by-side on the strip?

Never a boring moment at the MCR.

We probably should have moved to the West side of the track because I ended up battling a setting sun for the last few shots. Oh well,...... live and learn.

The Geezer Gassers came back later Friday evening and elected to use the old 'Flagman' starting system. Jim Lockabee (sp?) served and the 'Unofficial' starter. Brings back some great memories as I did the same duties a number of times back in our day.

I believe our own 'PSYCO', Mr. Diesner has taken a turn at the wheel of the 'Hairy Hauler' owned by Ron Norman.

Attention deficit disorder

And the 'Geezers' on the return road.
