Appears Mecum has put himself at the head of the pack in terms of offering the best of american muscle. I was quite impressed. In this economic climate I would say all makes did well.

Rob and I got to spend a few hours at the auction Friday PM, ran into several club members, some selling, some buying, some like us, just hanging out.

Not only was the quantity and quality of rare musclecars second to none, but also Dana and his staff are to be congratulated for putting on a first class event.

It was good to see a lot of reserves either met, or dropped, to allow cars to change hands.
I saw a few sell that I thought were bargains, but over all, I thought the prices were strong, especially considering the state of the economy, and most folks I spoke to felt the same.

Just returned from Indy. Great cars brought great money. Average cars brought average money. Best auction I've been to in many years. Congrats to Dana for bringing the hobby out of the recession!

It was great to see you guys, (and a surprise), and you are right on the money.

So many great cars and many indeed changed hands.

Although there were some great deals, there was no real pattern that I could see.

Overall, a great auction and as always with the Mecum crew, very smooth and well run.

And what a fantastic presentation!

Hands down the best collection of cars I have ever seen at auction. Absolutely great venue. All the cars are in buildings safe from any rain. Absolutely everyone was so impressed with the cars and amount of buyers. If you are wanting to buy or sell a quality musclecar next year, this would be the place to go. You had to be living under a rock if you didn't know about this auction. I got more emails and mailers from Mecum than I have ever gotten from any other auction. You other auction houses ...the bar has been raised.

What impressed me the most about how Dana ran the auction was how it was more about selling cars and very little about putting on a show. The auction moved along quickly, but not once did I feel a seller, or bidder for that matter, got short changed. The auctioneer did not go on and on about how the car was worth more, the bidders assistants did their jobs with out the badgering I have seen at other auctions and IMO, most importantly, Dana worked his tail off to help both sellers and bidders. For anyone looking to either buy or sell a musclecar, look no farther then Mecum.

I agree with Tom, Dana and his crew did a fantastic job and the venue was terrific. Unfortunately I am forced to agree with Charley in that the array of quality and historically significant cars was unprecedented. Best ever assembled.

It would have preferred to not be working that week, as I didn't have time to take in all of the great cars and spend enough time with friends. I have never seen so many quality and high-end cars, of all different makes and models available for sale at any one single venue, EVER!

The actual selling rate was probably just as high or better than the so called "no reserve" auctions.
