Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll get another grouping of pics to show again soon.

Dan,
The 69 Post is more than happy to help out holding parts for the LS6. It's time is coming.

I'm quietly hoping to get this car done by the fall Vettefest, but that might be a bit too optimistic.
CB09 is almost for sure, and if I don't make the fall Vettefest, then maybe the spring show.

Thanks Bill for the vote of confidence. I only hope to match some of the work done by many on this board.

[/ QUOTE ] How long have they been business? Are they located in Wisconsin? A shop called Nostalgic Auto Body painted a car that I currently own in 1986 and it still looks great today. Just wondering if it is the same place. If so I would love to talk to them and have them do work for me in the future.

Steve,

No, this is not the same outfit. Kevin use to work in Trevor, WI. but not under the same name. But nevertheless give them a call...they truly are among the best at what they do.

Here's some pics showing the original trunklid, the color match spray-outs, and the painted trunklid.

That's the original selling dealership sticker (Schumacher in Metamora, IL).
The original owner must have liked documenting his tire usage.

Nice color match Rick. For those who care, notice the lack of paint under the hinge mount and the rear of the lid on the original lid. I normally see a lot of rose or red oxide primer in that area as well.

So what is the general opinion on matching what is there vs color matching?
I am restoring a car right now and the wiper grille is extremely nice original paint on the bottom and I had it scanned and it was off from the color match.
The Lemans Blue orignal paint scanned as a more muted color...
It was Lemans Blue with more black in it (muting it) and it showed fine aluminum in addition to the medium ground aluminum... (I attribute this to the fact that medium gound aluminum which is half burried in pigment could scan as fine.) The Dupont paint man said that was very possible...
